In the workBench Key, which looks like a memory stick, there is a large button with a + sign in it. Click on it, and a drop down menu appears. Click on “Upload Files” in the list. A window appears that gives you the choice between the powerful Java uploader and a basic uploader. Try the Java drag and drop uploader first.
For details on uploading your files and refreshing your resource list, go to http://www.trintuition.com/tutorial/uploader1
You can also click on the weblink in your resource list that’s either called README or QUICK START MENU. The link will take you into the workBench tutorial on building screens and projects. There is a specific link to “Uploading.”
I hope this helps!
Ron
You mentioned in following up that when you click on “Upload files” in the drop down menu, nothing happens. Just tried it on a Mac and PC and seems to work fine here. Strange. We’ll look into this more deeply tomorrow (Monday), but for now, try:
- turning off pop-up blockers if you have them on.
- looking behind the workBench window if you’re using Firefox, which sometimes opens windows behind the parent window.
- try different browsers on the Mac and PC, in particular Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
Please let me know if you solve it - or don’t - because it is obviously an annoying and serious problem that we want to put to rest.
Ron.
yippee!!! i just shut down firefox and opened internet explorer and boy was i surprised when it worked..,.i just uploaded 3 photos and dragged and dropped one….thanks sooooooooo much for the simple advice..would never have thought of that one.
i am sure you will be hearing from me again with my next problem. thanks again…sue
Another yippee!!! for your success!
Running software through a browser sometimes presents interesting challenges for the likes of the workBench creators. Browsers don’t adhere to a common standard on how they handle all code, so sometimes when they put up a new version, there can be quirky ways the revision handles what worked fine before, and we quickly try to respond to those changes.
What’s surprising to me is that sometimes even big-name browsers put out a version that has bugs. They often end up fixing them in the next version. So, sometimes, if you run into an anomaly, it’s good to try another browser. And of course, sometimes it’s our bug that we have to fix.
Any problem you have, PLEASE jump into the blog with it, so we can try to solve it. It’s really valuable information for us, and beyond that, we want to get you back on track, creating - and back to your wonderful PS in your opening post, which joyfully said, “This is fun.”
I’ll throw in my two cents and say that we hope ALL project participants will follow your excellent model in sharing your experiences. I know TF now has 10-15% of our users on Firefox, and we do “test” TeachersFirst on it. Nevertheless, we run into similar quirks every once in awhile, too. One recent problem has been with SOME Flash items in IE 7.
If we all support each other, our collaborate body of knowledge can squish any techno-bug! And the BLP has both on-call “exterminators” and a healthy environment to start with. So the occasional “bug” will never have time to build a nest here.
OK, I have beaten the “bug” analogy to death…
