my second page

by slafaso on August 12th, 2008

I went as far as I could until school starts with my first website for my Gifted and Talented Classes website so I began a second one. This is for the kindergarten to third grade computer classes I teach. I hope to communicate with the parents and let the kids show off their work.

On each grade level page I put a link to website games that they may use in class if they finish early and at home.

I put the links in a word document but I don’t seem to be able to make a link to it.

Any advice?

Thanks, Susan

    Hi Susan,

I tried the links in your Word document, and they seemed to work ok for me. However, It’s a little round about to offer the links in a document (Word) not made for the Internet that has to be downloaded and opened to find and use them. Why not put them right into a workBench screen, perhaps with a little description of each game?

It’s really easy. See 9C in the Canvas tutorial. You can copy the addresses from your Word document and paste them into the workBench’s text input box for making links to outside websites. The project can simply have a “”games” resource page with as many links as you like to outside websites. You avoid the possible problem of a student trying at home to download and open the Word document without having Microsoft Office on the computer.

    Ron,
I liked the sample pages with all the picture links. Since I teach K-3 Computer many of the children recognize sites by pictures. So I think I solved my problem. Thanks again to you.
