Kids LOVE this kind of stuff and experts they will become when they are also in charge of teaching it to the class! If you have great ideas, I am game! I think it could be great - too bad school is structured in such a way that it is tough to control (105 students is too much.) I say “Why not?” too! I see a new course we are adding next year that will fit perfectly with this idea. Students could lead our new discussion / socratic seminar next year by selecting topics or "Conversation Threads" to investigate. The students will investigate a subject of interest, will lead the class as the expert, and produce podcasts or You Tube Videos, etc. to share that information. Of course the other classmembers will develop a wiki or whatever the newest technology teaching tool might be next year. What a flexible and exciting course this will be! And I know the students will rise to meet this challenge since this is their "world" and their future. One of my favorite sayings is "Life is constantly changing; you must change with it or be left behind." You know me, I do not want to be left behind! Donna Well, I still say why not!
